Residential garbage is collected by the Alberni Clayoquot Regional District through a private contractor and disposed of at the Alberni Clayoquot Regional District landfill. Ucluelet residents are “Bear Aware” and should abide by a Garbage Bylaw which contains regulations that aim to reduce the amount of bear attractants present in the community. For example, residents are not permitted to put garbage outside until the morning of collection day.

Ucluelet recycling facilities:
Drop-off depot at Seaplane Base Rd (Rec Hall) - please note the container may not be available on Wednesdays as it is unloaded by the contractor on that day.
Bottles and electronic devices can be dropped off to the Bottle Depot on Forbes Road.
