UCLUELET AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE (UAHC)

The UAHC was established in September 2007, and currently has 9 community members that meet every month with the following mandate:
- –Represent community interests in the development of an affordable housing governance and operations plan; and
- • Recommend to Council an appropriate Housing Authority structure and governance model
•
The committee has successfully led the development of a community-based eligibility criteria, standards for affordable housing units and have just recently completed the process of placing two qualified affordable housing applicants into available ownership units. The UAHC holds the long-term goal of evolving into a housing corporation.
