District of Ucluelet Takes Steps to Improve Water Quality

The District is aware of resident concerns over intermittent water discolouration. As a result, the District engaged a water consultant to work with staff to identify interim measures to be implemented before the recently announced grant-funded water filtration project is complete.  The consultant's report identified several actions the District can initiate, including increased flushing of water mains and reservoir maintenance. Staff will also be reporting to Council on proposals for expanded water conservation programs.

Combined with the filtration improvements, these improvements and programs are expected to reduce water appearance issues and provide Ukee residents with an excellent water supply long into the future.
